Just outside Yosemite’s northwest gate in the Gold Rush town of Groveland, the ranch is set on the original 19th-century stagecoach route that led to the park.
…In May of 2024, a similar setup opened nearby at Firefall Ranch. This glamping location is just outside of Yosemite’s northwest gate and is named for the park’s famous “firefall” that occurs every February, in which the water from Horsetail Falls appears vividly red. The ranch is settled on one of the original stagecoach routes that led into Yosemite National Park, many of which are now hiking trails.
Many travelers these days aren’t slowing down after the sun sets. Nocturnal tourism – commonly known as noctourism – has been a major travel-trend for 2025, with vacationers interested in everything from stargazing and chasing the Northern Lights to exploring destinations when temperatures are cooler and sunburns aren’t a concern.
