Exploring Yosemite During a Government Shutdown

Typically, most of Yosemite is open to you during a Government Shutdown, and even though most Park Rangers are not able to provide the services we all love and rely on, here are a few tips to help make sure you can still enjoy Yosemite to the fullest.

Brunch with Santa at Firefall Ranch

Come celebrate the season with Santa Claus at Firefall Ranch on December 14th, 2025 from 8:30am – 12:30pm! Enjoy a festive family-friendly day filled with delicious food, holiday crafts, scenic winter hayrides, and a visit with Santa himself.

Begin your morning with a full buffet-style brunch, then make your way to Peregrine Hall, where children can visit with Santa, share their holiday wishes, and pose for a memorable photo. Little ones can also enjoy hands-on holiday crafts and write letters to Santa to take home or send to the North Pole.

After brunch, take in the holiday scenery with a charming hayride around the Ranch, or warm up by an outdoor fire with a cup of hot cocoa. Guests will also receive access to Firefall’s resort amenities, including iceless skating rink*, mini golf, climbing boulder with kids play area, walking trails and so much more; perfect for families seeking a little adventure or some relaxed seasonal downtime.
